West Point is a grubby backwater best known for 1) it massive, reeking paper mill and 2) being the halfway bathroom-break spot for Richmonders headed to their summer homes in Deltaville. There’s nothing there but a big McDonald’s and a whole bunch of rednecks, so I’m not surprised the students have rallied around the

There’s a lot to unpack here. I’m trans and I’ve spent my career thus far in customer-facing IT. I’ve long accepted that I will have both co-workers and customers who hate me. I guess that’s life where I can expect to always get the short stick.

Oh, fuck you.

these types often think of refraining from beating someone to death is “tolerance”

‘he was at risk of losing his job for having views held by “most of the world for most of human history.”’

Less than maybe two weeks ago, he made headlines for his son’s first birthday party, which had a cowboys and Indians theme. Guests were dressed up as Indigenous people in blankets, there were party favors of toy guns, and teepees throughout the party. I guess he was “spreading positivity” when he made violent conquest

Don’t blame the people who find stuff. I totally want to know if someone posted something stupid or offensive, and I want to know if they still feel the same way.

They didn’t have to dig that much, he’s been VERY vocal about his feeling about gay men. Those quotes above are just the tip of the iceberg. Or trash pile

Dude is using an MLK quote to make himself feel better about being an asshole and getting justifiably kicked around for refusing to apologize? As if that’s what MLK intended when he said that quote. Boy, bye.

She fucked up people are calling her out. Yeah let’s disregard the complaints of Native American because she’s a woman.

She released a DNA test because of a bunch of racist mocking by the president

EXACTLY. This is the part that worries me the most.

All these responses indicate people that don’t get it. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t matter to you. It made her a joke. All it did was intensify claims she was exaggerating her Native American heritage, which is minuscule at best, and ticked off some allies by the way she presented it.

I think that’s what she was trying to do, though. I think she legitimately thought that bringing the DNA test into it would change the conversation and put her on offensive.

All she had to say is there is a bit of Native ancestry in my DNA, however my family blew this way out of proportion as did I. She knows she benefited from this practically non-existent Native ancestry without having to deal with any of the negative things that come along with being First Nations or a person of

I felt like you did about her once, until I read about how her obsession with her Native American ancestry caused pain to actual Native Americans. I encourage you to read Dr. Kim Tallbear’s response before concluding that Warren was the last great candidate of the democratic party. Run Harris.

There are plenty of other candidates who can be nominated. We can leave the clueless white lady in the dust, and it harms approximately no one. This is fine, and the right thing to do.

Then what is she claiming? Why bring up your native ancestry at all?

She’ll still be a fine presidential candidate. Let’s not rip her to shreds before she even starts.

Can we please be done pretending that Warren's presidential bid has legs? I mean, that's what this is all about, right?
