Gebre tried to pull a fast one, got rebuffed but, in today’s #MeToo climate, having even a whiff of the idea that the AFL-CIO would now or in the past has, reimbursed for strip club visits, is a bad look.
Mortensen, for all his smarts and daring, is, at the end of the day, a celeb movie actor.
When did he do this before? He’s never done this before.
The last time I willingly watched a movie of this type, it was “Places in the Heart”. But that one at least never claimed that it was about anything but Sally Field, unlike this one, which seems to have been a stealth project to put an Oscar in Mortensen’s pocket.
