Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, and Bubba Watson did not grow up rich. And it’s actually harder to find a place for a poor kid to play golf and learn the game than it is in a sport like basketball or football, where every school has a team.

If you think golf only takes place in country clubs, maybe. That would be ignoring all of the municipal and public and parks rec courses out there, though, which would be a pretty dumb take on your part.

Given the ticket costs of pro sports these days, that’s basically every sport now.
