Other than the cost/insurance issue: some of the HPV viruses are quite similar and so antibodies against them will give what they call “cross-protection”: you get HPV-16 and your body makes antibodies, those antibodies might provide some protection against HPV-31 as well. This is a good thing for you, but a BAD thing…
