I generally find atheists to be more amazed by incredibleness of our vast universe than many religious folks who think they have a personal relationship with their god, and can't think much past the small world they inhabit.

I don't think it is clear that the Rainmaker was bad the first time around. He's bad in Joe's eyes, but he also could just be cleaning up a horrendous mess, and righting some wrongs.
