Anyone who does serious work in Excel uses INDEX/MATCH over VLOOKUP because VLOOKUP is pretty much worthless. INDEX/MATCH is the standard best practice for data indexing.

So...an extra 5 seconds? VLOOKUP requires data to be ordered a certain way, prevents you from reshaping your data at all, is (when dealing with larger spreadsheets) slower, can’t be used in arrays, and has a limited approximate match. I’ll gladly spend 5 extra seconds.
