No, I totally agree that it’s unclear what transformation they’re talking about with regard to Nyong’o. Just don’t think it makes any more or less sense to talk about AH’s human rights work as their example of transformation.

Or maybe it’s just their way of saying, “Hey, you know what this reminds us of?” Why is this such a BFD? Vogue never said that they *know* AH was the inspiration. Oy.

Pretty sure they were referencing the plot of My Fair Lady, where AH (as Eliza Doolittle) is transformed (in her appearance) from street urchin to hoity toity lady.
