I think this is right on. I’m a man and have unquestionably been part of the problem for most of my adult life. For various reasons, I arrived at a place of questioning and some form of understanding in my recent past (vs. now), thanks to women in my life, some men, and experience. I’m sure I have a long way to go.

In clear type on the title card for her work when it was exhibited at the Whitney, it stated that she will never sell the work and never profit from it. I saw it in person and can attest to its existence.

Kara, not Karen. She’s one of the greatest voices in art today, and certainly one of the most respected black artists alive right now.
