Looks like I cannot edit the parent post to correct it, but thank you for pointing it out.

... re-reading you’re right <headslap>

I had no idea shakshuka would fall under Israeli food. We found a recipe for it on BudgetBytes and make it fairly regularly in our house with a nice crusty bread to dip in. Makes great lunches too in the office.

Can’t wait to hear the 911 call audio on this one.

Before plugging in that space heater, check things out. Not all cubes have the power capacity to handle them, and may not be allowed by local fire code (I have worked in offices where one or both are the case).

I like it colder, but we have some folks who want it warmer. Small heating pads are what they swear by -

Dependable babysitters.
Seriously, we only go when we can get a parent to watch our kid or the one babysitter who’s dependable do we go to a movie. We finally saw Star Wars on Christmas Eve because my parents offered to babysit while we were visiting.
Give me in theater childcare, and we would seriously consider it.

I was going to buy the Cuisinart grinder, but a friend referred me to the Capresso grinder line. Surprisingly, Best Buy has a good deal on this model burr grinder with very similar features, but they’re throwing in a free Google Assistant BT speaker and free shipping. Just got the grinder yesterday, and it works great.

Best: Beer. So much beer.
I’ve made some great friends this year through beer, and of course enjoyed some fantastic brews at the same time. My family and I made a couple planned stops on our vacation to Kansas City as well this fall to a handful of breweries, and it was fantastic.

Depending on the family we visited, we could do that. My stepmom? Not so much. She’s ask us why he was waking up at odd hours in the night, why we were so tired, etc. She’s used to her extended family living nearby, not people driving 3 hours away from home.

My mom and my inlaws though all got it though, so they would

As for drowning out noise, you can bring a sound machine or play white noise from an app on your phone. Or, as one mom mentioned, you can turn on the radio and have it play static.

My favorite bit of office lunch gear. I keep one in my lunch bag, so I have one with me for lunch, and one at home that’s clean for the next day. Repeat cycle throughout week.

OMG
Why did I not know about this when our son was going through the same issues?! This would have been so so helpful!

Also, totally reminds me of Magic Mouth from SNL.

Rosemary + BBQ shouldn’t be strangers. Now, I do put my rosemary in my mortar and pestle and grind it up into a powder though for my rub.

The whole vinegar thing (or others use mustard) to help the rub stick I have not found a need for - have you tried cooking your ribs without it?

I’ve been smoking now for a while, and

Fresh section of paper towel, and sometimes I’ll use a knife to cut under the membrane a bit to get it started. It takes practice, but you’ll eventually be able to feel your way around to getting them off in mostly or wholly one piece.

For fool proof, you cannot beat a pellet smoker (and there are more than just Traeger out there now), or an Orion. Pellet cookers use wood pellets and temp controllers to make sure you have a solid, consistent temp, and lots of smokey love. Orions are part way between - run on charcoal, but similar, no fussing with

Having never used one of these, is this better than using a blender/food processor?

For example, when I make tomato sauce, I usually borrow my neighbor’s chinois to make sure any bits of skin/seeds/etc make it through, then run it through the blender.

However, I have run into trouble making my home made BBQ sauce - some

These look really close to the Maverick wireless units, and those are what I use at the moment. Great for use on the grill, oven, smoker, etc.

I will say I screwed up one year - tried a new bourbon pecan pie recipe that the filling was great, the crust turned out not so much. I made an emergency run to a convenience store that morning and they had fresh baked cherry turn overs that were warm from their ovens. Bought them nearly out.

My wife and I still ate

My mom and inlaws have no objection to letting someone else cook. Though, I do love when my MIL brings her Filipino dishes as sides - that stuff is welcome at any time.
