For the record, The Third Man is a Carol Reed movie, not an Orson Welles film. Welles spent a few days acting in it, and contributed a couple of bits to his role (including a memorable speech) but it's not his creation.

Agree. I much prefer the original "Body Snatchers" and "The Thing." For one thing, they were head and shoulders above contemporary offerings for a reason, while the remakes are pretty comparable to what was around during their time.
