@ffejie: To be fair, one guy from Apple (David Hyatt) and one guy from Google (Ian Hickson) are helping to write the specs for HTML 5...or at least, are pushing for certain standards, like the offline storage db.

@dmtofree: you disabled your IP address? You just discovered something AMAZING!

@Raspop: Prevx is a legit Anti-Virus/Security company. I don't use their product, but I'm sure they have a fix because their product is linked directly to the problem.

@jonny6pak: Thus, the patch by Prevx. Here, it is made out to be as though some unrelated 3rd party came up with a fix out of...kindness?

Windows' scandisk will flag the sectors as unusable, so I guess I don't understand the point of running something (potentially for an hour or so depending on the size of your drive) which doesn't do anything..and then having to run through the same process again with scandisk in order to attempt to fix it.

@nolabar10der: As long as the cloud implementation allows for downloading your info (an offline mode), something the T-Mobile Sidekick never had apparently, then I have no problem with it...well, that and as you mentioned, security. I put a contact in my g1, and that contact is now available from anywhere that is

Seems as though more people are interested in having their online presence disappear rather than have their family or others sift through whatever archives are left behind. Maybe what is needed is some kind of dead-man's switch app that needs to be actively checked into once in a while. If warnings go ignored after a

@Phoshi: Avira has a command line ver...I think most of them do

@goodywitch: That Avira behavior doesn't sound right. I've never had to reboot after a database update. Maybe give it another chance with a clean install if you are still willing. Avira was my 2007-2009 favorite, but I've been using MSE now for a few months and haven't found a reason to switch back...yet. #antivirus

Interesting free package (unlimited invoices with 3 clients) compared to Zoho's unlimited clients but 5 free invoices per month. #timemanagement

I don't know why, but I hardly ever watch the extra features on my dvds. Once in a blue moon, maybe. Laziness, or just plain not interested.

@myself: Backup the 1GB, format the 8GB. Throw the ROM on the fat32 partition on the 8GB (and the nandroid img if you like) and pop it in the phone. Boot into the recovery terminal. Wipe. Choose install any zip from the SD. Flash it. Reboot. Wait for newness. Copy over the files from the 1GB if so inclined.

I'm confused. I have a new 8GB SD card to replace my 1GB SD card. Do I format the new SD before or after I have updated to Cyanogen's ROM?

Apple just AOL'd itself

@tsims10s: high on my list too. uploading sound files to be used as greetings...a la youmail. I can get much better quality from my mic at the desktop than I can from my phone.

@Victor Zarza: Why would you install loads of useless applications? Is that a requirement of some kind? Sounds like a user issue to me.

Weird. In a "what the hell is all this stuff on top of the fridge" cleaning frenzy, I found a very old bottle of vodka covered in dust. As I poured it down the sink I thought, "I bet if I looked it up I could find other things to do with this stuff." and had a flashback to some MythBusters ep where they tried it for
