So, you don’t really give a shit about the lives of animals, just your own safety. Sound like a real winner.

If they advertised discounted times, and then that made traffic increase during those times, would not those times then become high traffic “surge” times? If they wanted to do some kind of lower price happy hour option during slow periods, they could have said that.

A friend’s teenager once printed up 100 static-cling decals (this is important as there was no possible way he was vandalizing or damaging property). They were matte charcoal grey so they blended into dark colours really nicely. They said “I have a tiny wiener”. He stuck them to brodozer trucks, just below the rear

I generally hate to generalize when something goes to shit but I swear to God every horrible thing to come out of the economy can be traced back to the Reagan years.

Well some of that is correct. Money exists because having a central currency system that everyone agrees to use makes a billion times more sense than using a barter system or a currency tied to a finite and hoardable resource, which is why no country still uses a “gold standard” afaik.

I'm going for Resolve

My analogies were chosen just as arbitrarily as the article’s argument. That’s the beauty of it! If I’d put much more thought into it, I would have fallen for the same trick.

But, did you try to get into MGS when it first came out? Because, for its time, I don’t think the controls were wonky or unintuitive (and the cutscenes were mindblowing).

MGS4 was my entry into the series, and cutscenes were honestly what made me fall in love with it. They were so damn good I couldn’t stop playing.

That fistfight at the end of MGS4 is one of the best sequences in all of gaming. From the score to the health bars changing to tell the history of the franchise that led us to this moment. Brilliant.

Sadly I’m more and more convinced that the public at large would rather die in a gutter than hurt the people responsible.

be the change you want to see in the world....

I’m so exhausted of late stage capitalism. When do we get to the part where we put CEOs and shareholders in a guillotine?

I am very tempted. Souls-like, Pinocchio, decadent French setting... it's all very appealing. I'm just a bit burnt-out on souls-likes at the moment. It's definitely on my watch-list. Thank you.

FF7 is the cautionary tale that keeps on telling...

Having fled a polluted city of unchecked corporate, militaristic oppression, I’m hit with the light of a bright blue, endless sky. Rich green grass extends endlessly before me; mountains tower in the distance. The world around me is a wellspring of life. Yet it’s haunted by a creeping shadow of harm. I see it in

What throws me off is that - at least for the other G/O sites (now I’m questioning whether Kotaku does it) - their style guide apparently dictates that they write in the plural first-person (we, us). So their articles and hence their opinions at least suggest to casual readers that Kotaku should be treated like a hive

Cliff Burton never died, Dave Mustaine’s not an asshole, Metallica’s still making good music, you know, while we’re speculating.

This is all a deception. They saw all the leaks and are throwing you off with these new leaks that are fake leaks so that they can reveal that it’s coming out tomorrow, and is launching with The Mario of Zelda: Pokémon Kazooie, where Ness and Samus team up to go 1080 Snowboarding against Andross. The system will

I didn’t start playing it until December after it had seen multiple patches, and while I have encountered various glitches (from relatively minor to some fairly serious ones) and still do to this day (I’m just at the end of Act 2 now), all in all I’ve been extremely pleased with the experience. Perhaps the (well
