The siren song of a video game that hooks you has never and will never be limited to the release window.

I’d have split the difference. Have Sutherland be both Venom and Ishmael in the prologue, and then much later on with the prologue replay have Sutherland still be Venom while Hayter became Ishmael/Big Boss.
Right? SE has been putting Triple Triad in a lot of their other games it was so fun. Its a pretty massive game to play both pvp and against computer opponents in FFXIV. Such a simple and fun game.
I think this is the matter of a (increasingly sensationalist) website reporting form another website parsing legalese across 2 countries.
As someone who got into the franchise through V (Summer Steam sale during the pandemic), I thought the Sutherland’s performance was pretty decent. The worst part of just how little there actually was. It’s clear once you get the the game’s second half that the story is basically unfinished.
Going back to the older…
I never understood this notion of “someone else has it worse so your feeling are invalid”. If you tired, you’re tired and companies suck in general now with the bureaucracies. You don’t have to live in a war torn country or a slave ring to have it a bit rough. Let the man have his tweet, dayum.
When did this trend of hating on Hideo Kojima start? Sure the dude is a bit eccentric, but I’m not so sure I’d agree that he is “insufferably pretentious.” You might just be someone who doesn’t really like his games. The dude knows what he is. Is his exhaustion self-inflicted? Yes, most likely. But he also admittedly…
Things are rough all over, universe doesn’t revolve around you or him or me. Not a big fan of Kojima’s work, but how you could possibly know what’s going on in his life?
You guys have the same number of jokes as the “identify as an attack helicopter” people
Exactly. I don’t care that how ubiquitous our internet connection is, the inability to play an offline game without the internet is unacceptable.
And let’s not forget that the mandatory Kinect, coupled with a mandatory always-on internet, was a major privacy issue.
The people who will run in with attempts at “told you so”s will ignore two major elements:
1) Even if it was the best thing ever, Microsoft did such an ATROCIOUS job explaining/marketing it, it never would have mattered. The case study of just how you could botch a console launch from every conceivable angle is…
“Only the government/taxes take my money.”
Not entirely accurate. But yes, there’s a *BIG* problem with capital gains taxes. Not only that it’s not high enough, but that the system is (deliberately) set up to make it practically impossible to tax capital gains effectively, no matter what rate it’s theoretically taxed at. There’s a reason why Warren Buffet has…
Good. One less live service money pit to watch die a slow death. I’m glad that they could acknowledge that this was going to hurt their bread and butter single player games and made the right call.
Sounds good to me, Hollywood needs to take a page from Japanese creators when it comes to interesting post-apocalyptic scenarios. Climate change? Nuclear war? Alien invasion? Yawn. A catastrophic event where the material world merges with the spiritual dimension? Scientists mucking around with a progenitor entity and…
I loved the long cut scenes tbh. Reminded me of a Lynch movie, where it just lets the audience soak it in. Low and slow. I don’t think he really heaps “more and more”, imo it felt more like he had something small and just let it take the spot light for a long long time. I mean shit the game is just about walking…
Why does everyone seem to be assuming Kojima will be writing and directing the film himself?
Holy shit! This is the first console price drop in SEVEN WHOLE YEARS.
Nature is healing?
Your head is really going to spin when you read about BogoMips:
