Discourse about how dumb it is that this show is considered a Comedy by the Emmys is old pat at this point.

Shows I want to win: Rez Dogs, Shogun, The Bear (esp Jamie Lee Curtis, because duh), Fargo, Bob’s Burgers (although Xmen 97 is a great addition to this category), and What We Do in the Shadows.
As is Gass, apparently, in his mewling apology. It sounded more like “I apologize for the lost opportunities of revenue my comment has brought”
I remember when Trump got Covid in 2020 and I had colleagues being like “well I don’t like him but I don’t necessarily want him to DIE”. Nah, every day that guy is alive is a net negative to the world. The second he dies the world will become a better place.
Jon Stewart Isn’t Helping should be the name of his show
At least we’ll have the moral high ground when we’re jailed for voting blue. That’ll show em.
This is why Stewart’s show is stuck in 2004. He still thinks there’s a way forward in trying to deal with outward fascists. He’s still trying to “both sides” everything when one side wants to literally kill and imprison the other. Having O’Reilly on the show is gross as shit, no one should give him a platform to say…
Like it or not, she sang the National Anthem as how it represents America in 2024. Big brained move.
Oh cool I enjoyed the first season of this, but I thought it got cancelled along with the Patton Oswald-voiced, Robot-Chicken-looking MODOK show, also on Hulu. Glad to see it’s alive and well, I’ll check out Hit Monkey for at least another season
Sage magically recovering from a gunshot wound to the head last episode, I guess they can use the ‘lobotomy/brain growing’ gimmick to explain it away but characters are only as important as the plot requires them to be in this show, so hand-waving injuries aside is common.
The torture of Hughie is seemingly unending this season. Even though he doesn’t realize it in this episode, his character has been put through the ringer way too many times, his mind has to be shattered at this point.
Indeed, and sometimes it’s nice to see a horror movie in a packed theater too! Jurassic Park sometimes leans into scary, and the kids behind me were gasping whenever a raptor burst through a wall, good times.
Illumination studios has been a dearth in quality for the last decade or so, but it doesn’t matter because their movies make bank, and they’re the very epitome of the harried parent quieting their “I’M BORRRED” children for two hours in a theater.
I also like going to the movies, for the theatrical experience (saw the original Jurassic Park in a 100 year old theater near me last night, in fact). But it’s hard to argue with people who say they have a busy life/kids, and they just want to relax at the end of the week with a movie in their living rooms, without…
“And according to THR, a lot of cinemas that offered audiences a chance to buy advance tickets for Chapter 2 now have to issue refunds”
Wright can go kick rocks for her anti-vaxx stance. Black Panther 2 was a very uncomfortable watch not just because it was primarily about how Chadwick Boseman died, but also because its lead was supposed to be this technical genius whose real life counterpart was a conspiracy theorist.
Like any anthology series, it had its hits and misses. I liked the zombie episode and the Dark Strange episodes because they were such downers. Not a fan of their necessity to “team up” like the Avengers for everything like what how they formed a multidimensional team to stop Ultron at the end of the first season.
Eh, they don’t need to “come back”, whatever that means. They don’t deserve the same opportunities they had, because they were alleged to do horrific things. They don’t get to do crocodile tears and grovel for a bit and then be re-welcomed by society again, they fucked up, multiple times and on purpose, and chose to…
I have noticed an uptick in quality for the reviews recently, as some old writers have come back as well
