One of the most awesome things about this whole lockdown mess is that my MIL hasn’t been able to visit. It’s been heavenly. She usually drives the 6 hours and barges her ass up in here like clockwork every 6 weeks and does nothing but create chaos and stress.

When I found out that Fauci says thanksgiving gatherings should be canceled I cried tears of joy. This man is my hero.

This. I’m a government employee, and I’m astounded at the defensive reactions I get from the older, more conservative crowd when I ask basic questions like, how are we going to pay for this, where did this statistic come from, what does success look like?

“Barrett said that her 10-year-old son, Liam, was so upset during the questioning portion of the hearing the day before that he had to leave.“

Cory Booker tore up her lack of “academic curiosity” (he didn’t use those words) this afternoon over her lack of awareness and attempts to self-educate on racial issues surrounding policing and sentencing, so that was fun, too.

The gall of any judge dismissing something as “academic.” YOU’RE A CANDIDATE TO THE SUPREME COURT. It does not get more wonky than that. Academic discussions should literally be your bread and butter.

I'm probably not as smart as Ted Cruz (/s) the Zodiac Killer, but doesn't birth control PREVENT abortions?

It is relevant when you’re trying to impose your beliefs on people who don’t share them. Barrett has written articles and given lectures where she encourages law students to use the law to create a kingdom of God. She’s entitled to her beliefs but when she views the law as a vehicle to impose her beliefs and therefore…

Yes. Critical examination of philosophical\religious beliefs is not tantamount to “persecution”. As has been pointed out so many times, it’s rich that the fascists mock liberals for being snowflakes when they bray so loudly about being victims....while they’re the ones in power.

In 1998, Barrett co-wrote an article stating that recusal would be the appropriate course of action for a Catholic judge who felt that his or her religious beliefs were in conflict with upholding the law:

She could drop trou and leave a massive turd on the senate floor and they’d still ram her through.

What do you expect her and others to do?

It’s what happens when you don’t have a majority in the Senate. All of those House bills have died because of such (and Yurtle). It’s very hard to be a Democrat in the age of Trump because you get shit on for EVERYTHING that Obama “did” in his 8 years, plus the Hillary shit and…

“It is you calling Republican senators and telling them enough is enough, telling them it’s personal, telling them they have their priorities wrong. So do it.”

Oh her daughter could get one.  She just doesn’t want any other woman to be able to get one.

So, how would she feel if one of her daughters wanted an abortion?

Thank god!

So odd that the ballot says to “blacken” the oval instead of, say, fill in the oval.

The instructions specified blue or black. Thanks. It's an important election.

It's not in the picture, but the direction was blue or black ink. Thanks.

So here we are again a few weeks out from election day, being treated to daily pieces about how his campaign is imploding, and he’s basically already lost. It’s not that I don’t believe that’s probably true. But shit, I have a horrible sense of deja vu. Am I alone in that? I am way too fucking terrified to be…
