Oh, and Steve McQueen content too. (The Petersen turned down an offer of $30M on this car)
Last night I put up this gallery, of photos I took on the Saturday of the 2013 Rolex 24. Well, It's Sunday now.
I'm holed up in a hotel, watching as much of the race as I can. I went to the race a couple years ago, and while I really should have made a detailed post of the adventure at some point (RV, 3 guys, 218 beers, great stories), I figured I would post some photos from the event here. This is just Saturday....I'll…
One of the last showings for those lovely cars up above.
And the QuarterLifeCrisis middle of winter photo fiesta continues on. This time with added Martini!
It is what it is. And what it is is Maseratis going around a race track a few months ago.
I'm taking advantage of the fact that I'm holed up in a hotel for the next 2 weeks to get some photos out that I've been a bit negligent about. First up is the only round of the Maserati Trofeo Championship to be contested in the US.
Made it out to what is likely my last cars and coffee in Raleigh, as I'll be moving to the VA Beach area in 3 weeks. As a bit of a going away present, I got to drive the 41 Packard up above. This was my first experience with a 3 on the tree. (Side bar - I drove THE Torchbug last weekend, that was my first…
Made it back out to Cars and Coffee for the first time in about 3 months. A lot of the same...but some different things around. Two Karmas side by side was a first, for me at least.
Had a decent morning to get out and shoot. Was a little chilly, but, figured I'd share. Nothing earth shattering, by any measure.
Going through my photos from the TUSCC race at VIR, and found Bob in a picture.
Sorry - no photo to bribe anyone with, work computer, federal network, yada yada yada.
So, I was supposed to fly back to Illinois for a hearing tonight. I had it worked out where I was going to be able to fly in tonight, attend a wedding tomorrow, hang out in Chicago, then attend the hearing, go back to my hometown, and get a trip in to see my dad.
It was that time of the month - you know, when you drag your ass out of bed to go look at cars in a parking lot.
Had a buddy take a few rolling shots of my car while we were together over the weekend. I was quite impressed with the results.
For everyone that was subjected to as delightful of a Tuesday as I was...
So, after I went here, I went somewhere else and looked at cars. Ate a cheeseburger instead of drinking coffee, and parked next to a completely different big black car, my friend Chad's 41 Packard.
Popped out for C&C yesterday morning, met an Opponaut (Our very own C&C Spreadsheet Guru). I'd not been to this particular event before, good turnout with decent variety. Like...in this picture.
I'm spending my awesome Saturday night editing photos and watching IndyCar at the short oval at Iowa. Always good racing....this might not be so much of a good race though, pending rain, and already had 1 red flag.
I've been going through Sebring pictures. On the Friday before the race I stumbled into the Hall of Fame at the track, hoping for some shade and air conditioning. There was a nice little old lady at the door that asked if I was there for the signing.
