I think that the difference could be made between games which require endless blind packs in order to play and something collectible such as baseball cards or even the Shopkins that I mentioned. That is tough though, I see your point. I still can’t say that those types of products aren’t similarly predatory.

I’ve been wondering the same thing about CCGs and other sectors that deal in “blind packs,” but I think your conclusion about them is wrong.

I’m on PS4 and didn’t get Destiny 2 but saw a lot of old comrades playing at launch while I played Warframe. I’ve since seen a suspicious amount of them playing Warframe recently. Anecdotal, but interesting.

Update:

Hadn’t played any of the recent games and was really taken aback at how amazing this is. The game plays great, but the cutscenes and their ranging from goofy absurdist camp to heart wrenching introspection really set it apart for me.

Not sure if that is some kinda local story but the Endor scenes in RotJ were filmed in Redwood National Park in Humboldt.
