Definitely not RAID 0, why does everyone keep saying that. This is not creating a stripe and halfing the data — it’s using OS X own logic to allocate less frequently used files to the flash drive and cacheing back to the SSD.

This is definitely not a RAID 0 so I think a simple Time Machine back up would solve any problems as long as the drive you install provided space required for the whole Time Machine backup.
This thing is NOT using an SD card as an SSD... and certainly is not set up as a RAID 0 — that would be stupid.
