Nope, not according to studies. The majority of people drink what is in front of them and don't get refills. That's the entire theory behind this experiment of limiting cup sizes.

Yes, the government does actually have that right. That's what health departments do. Were you this upset by the trans fat ban? Do you even live in New York?

No, most psychological studies prove you wrong on this one. In general, people finish what is in front of them and do not bother to get up to order refills or buy additional servings. If you put 16 oz in front of them, they drink that, same with 44 ounces. It's a psychological compulsion. That's the entire theory

Bloomberg DID propose a tax first, it didn't pass, because of the Coke lobby. He thought this might work instead. He's been working on the issue of reducing metabolic syndrome and diabetes for his entire time in office and trying different initiatives. This is the latest one.

Do you live in New York? The health department does do all of these things.

You can still buy a big sugary soda at ANY SUPERMARKET, ANY DRUGSTORE, ANY 7-11, ANY CORNER STORE WITHOUT A DELI. Where else do you actually regularly buy soda? None of those places are regulated by the health department. You can still share your 2 liters with your 3+ friends all you like.

Did you feel the same way about the trans fat ban here in New York? I personally think that has positively affected the public health, and I think the 16 ounce size restriction will likely be a positive impact as well. Most people drink what's in their cup and don't refill it. Laziness wins the day, and could save

If you are using high-fructose corn syrup to regulate your hypoglycemic condition, then you have BIG PROBLEMS, lady. It's not actually good for you. There are many healthy ways to quickly raise your blood sugar in an emergency and 44 ounces of Coke is not one of them.

I think you are mischaracterizing Bloomberg. He really doesn't care about obesity as a value position, or care about people, really. He wants to SAVE MONEY on healthcare to the poor. He asked his policy wonks to figure out the largest statistical contributors to NYC's emergent diabetes and metabolic syndrome

I think you are disproving your own point. Psychological studies say, exactly as you said, that people will not bother to go up and refill their own drink. That's why corporations sold them bigger drinks. So, if the majority of people just finish their 16 ounce drink, are satisfied, and stop there with no refills,

I think if no reasonable person could believe that he were a cactus, then it is NOT libel. It has to be something that is obviously not satire.

THANK YOU! You are cool.

I feel the need to point out that they couldn't find any queer WOMEN to be in that video.

Plus the acanthosis nigricans on her neck. But maybe being on the show will give them better access to health care?

I used to go to Juventino regularly. Recognize the chef. WILL BOYCOTT. Thanks for posting.

Why bother rewriting a Gawker post from two days ago?

"Then she took another tack saying, ‘I am Muslim, you are Jewish. You are all greedy, why can't you just let it go?'

also, yikes, i just spent $4,000+ on frozen sperm, so, fingers crossed.

"like an increase of estrogen from soy plants" soybeans? please! how about an increase in estrogenic effects from basically every new plastic polymer created in the 20th century? BPA is just the tip of the iceberg. pthalates, BHA, butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), dimethyl terephthalate, saran wrap, etc...etc..

I appreciate your question! The replies so far are interesting. Still, perhaps they controlled for mental illness?
