To me the whole Audrey-thing is like an authors meta-reflections on writing: how to write this character, what to do, oh, nothing can be done, back to the white room, back to emptiness. Sort of postmodern. No foreshadowing, not even sideshadowing. Just shadow. Sort of seen before. Except from that I was very pleased

For 16 episodes my reaction to The Return ranged from cautious optimism to outright anger. But these last 2 really made everything click in to place. Everything you’ve said is spot on, but I also think there is an element of turning the idea of a reboot back in to the fans that wanted it. In essence, they are

The running theory is this: Laura, the Golden Orb, was sent by the Lodge Spirits to defeat Judy, the Mother, the Experiment. Bob tried to kill or possess Laura to stop her, through Leland. Judy possessed Sarah.

Fine, but it doesn’t really explain why Arya would suddenly feel all murdery with her sister, and start talking about taking her place to wear her pretty dresses—something she explicitly has been shown not to care about.

Seriously, the only way I see it is they all die, but both Cersei’s and Dany’s babies get born (ugh... and if Dany’s not pregnant after the Boat Boning, I’ll eat my hat). Smash cut to 20 years later(?) and the battle begins anew?

“That wraparound with Euron seems like a screwball way to get him to Essos.”

He ain’t going to Essos. Cersei may think he’s following her orders, but he now has all the gold, Cersei still hasn’t had sex with him and shows no indication of being willing to keep up her part of their agreement, and he has every reason to

Part of the problem I think is that D&D are writing the final 3 seasons with GRRM’s outline in hand, so they’re inevitably “writing backwards” from major events they want to either sync up to (assuming GRRM ever finishes another book) or fulfill on his behalf (in the more likely event he never does.) so the TV series

What would the consequences of that be? Like, if that is the case, what why would it be relevant story wise?

I write, and while I inevitably come up with the climactic scene early, I write from the start and see if the characters can get there themselves. You never, ever, write backwards like that. It made it all feel like a slog; it simply is not as interesting as it would be if you let the characters get there organically.

Zawarski: CPA-to-the-muthafuckin’-K, evidently.

Mr. C actually said “Goodbye *my* son.”

Exactly. Avoid till you watch. Be a fan and watch asap. Or at least don’t whine so much - it’s all just fun.

Of everything in this episode I think what stayed with me most was the way that Chantal and Hutch died. It was borne of complete stupidity and rage on all sides, and played with our expectations in that they were killers, they were terrible people, yet I was still very disturbed by the way they died, and I actually

Finally able to post after someone recommended me...anyway, I was satisfied with how Richard died. He was always written as a nasty little thug, never as anyone intelligent or worthwhile. At first I thought it was a waste to not see him with Audrey, but I didn’t really want to see that (and I don’t think I’m ever

Why the hell would you want to check the letter grade before you watch the episode

So much of it’s dry and procedural.

But they do give a fuck about getting the business of the infrequent travelers who are only look for the cheapest possible flight. That’s why the come up with these ridiculous price tiers like basic economy and shrink the size of seats from 18.5 inches to 17 inches and the leg room between rows so they can smash more

Google fight is usually solid. Lifehacker has tauted tripdelta (now tripcombi), but I haven’t found any differences or unique routes.

What do you use? Always looking for a good site. I use Kayak.
