I always joke that I’d be a better Catholic, but they messed up and taught me about Jesus.

Precisely. Being trans doesn’t mean you suddenly will develop compassion and empathy. If you don’t have it to start with, then that’s really who you are.

I was raised Catholic, and I still can’t believe missionaries are a real thing anymore.

He’s the best. He is just a genuinely kind and compassionate person. I’m sure he was mostly scared and angry at her in the moment, but had it been me, I wouldn’t have been so quick to let that turn into anything other than resentment, because that is a terrible thing to say if it’s not true.

“Listen, we can try to stop shooting black children, or we can try to stop raping women. Choose. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” /s

My best friend was falsely accused of rape as a young teen. He said, when we’ve discussed it (it happened before I knew him), that while it was a ridiculous claim made by a very troubled girl, it always bothered him that the cops straight up said to him and his parents, “well, we know she’s lying.” Because what if was

You know, I don’t think that I would personally have chosen to do this.

Hahaha like the reverse of Serial Killer Dick from Bizarre States.

And when people do decide to adopt, people ask WHY. Because that is the method they have chosen to try and grow their family. That’s why. They’re not required to justify that decision to anyone.

Haha, oh if you’re on wedding forums, I’m sure it’s much more common a thing. You get to hear the craziest of the crazies.

ESPECIALLY IF ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE IS YOUR SON.

In this situation, you’re not getting the names of everyone in the hotel who is booked for that night, or the names of everyone who booked between day X and day Y. You’re not getting the names of unrelated people also randomly placed on that floor or whatever.

I know I’ve commented that same anecdote on at least one other article - fingers crossed it’s just you keep seeing my comments and it’s not a widespread thing.

No, I’m okay with a hotel giving me a list of people who used my name to book a room, in order to end up with both a discount and in a specific location.

I remember it was the first time someone asked to speak to the manager when they weren’t happy and I got to say, “I am the only manager on duty,” so I was ready to fight this person no matter what their issue was. She hung up when she threatened to call the police to come arrest me, and I sarcastically asked, “oh, are

1) at my friend’s wedding, her in-laws requested the room next to hers when checking in. They immediately called my friend to verify if that was okay. (She said no, since that’s creepy).

I had someone call the restaurant I was working at, asking for the home phone number of an employee because her “daughter was at a sleepover at [employee]’s house” and she had no way to get in touch with her about pickup. She threatened to have me arrested when I said I would be glad to relay a message to my employee,

Hey that’s fine though concerning since I started with pretty big boobs. As long as they don’t continue to grow at this rate, though, after the baby is born and I’m done nursing.

I am happysad that my boobs got so big when I got pregnant that I literally broke all but 2 of my bras (all of them Aerie) because hopefully when my boobs eventually decrease the 2 cup sizes they’ve already grown (and I’m only in the 2nd trimester!) I can just go on a whole new Aerie shopping spree.

The only people I know who spent months in the hospital were my grandmother, who had pneumonia among other things and spent 6 full months admitted to recover (how she lived another 15 healthy years in some sort of miracle), and my friend’s wife, who had placenta percreta and had to be on complete and total bedrest
