Actually, both of my sisters have uteruses that might make carrying a pregnancy more difficult (though not impossible or even unlikely). I would absolutely be their surrogate if they needed me to, and if I was done having kids, I would for either of them.

That part BLOWS MY MIND. My best friend’s in-laws requested the hotel room next to hers/her husband’s for the night of her wedding, and the hotel immediately called my friend and asked if that was something she was OK with. Like, she’s nobody, the wedding wasn’t AT the hotel, she wasn’t bringing in a ton of money for

Yeah, I completely agree with him.

Like at least once an episode I turn to my husband and say, “why the hell do we still watch this? I hate this show.” But we watch every fucking week, can’t quit it.

I had to stop watching debates in 2008, when John McCain put women’s health in sarcastic scare quotes, and I threw the remote control at the wall and broke it.

This is two years later (I just got a notification for another comment on the thread which is how I ended up reading this), but I just wanted to add:

Obviously, it’s ridiculous that this wasn’t a detail anyone bothered to consider, but there are a variety of reasons a room available for employees of the theater wouldn’t be a practical or appropriate place for non-employees. I don’t know anything about the layout of the theater, but I can think of different places

Yeah, like it surprises me that there isn’t SOMEWHERE better to do it, that the theater doesn’t have some sort of pumping/nursing contingency plan. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if the Academy overlooked that, but I imagine that the venue has someone who accounts for the specific details for events like this, and

I think you worded it perfectly.

Is this an Oscars problem specifically, or a problem with the venue(s) where the Oscars are held?

I wonder if it really “can’t feasibly” be related. There are some weird and random things that happen to my body over the course of a cycle that seem to have nothing to do with my ovaries but they happen around the same time every month, so somehow they’re linked.

HSG? I had to have two of them related to infertility treatments, to make sure my tubes were open.

Oh, that’s just awful. I know it’s not the same thing, but after my first failed IVF - where your period will be heavier than usual because the meds thicken up your lining - I was in serious mourning mode. Those were my two embryos that were dissolving, my two babies were leaving me. I loved them so much, even though

No, that was another one, but I forget which one.

When I was in 7th grade, a tampon fell out of someone’s backpack and on the floor. We were lined up, waiting to change classes, and we all noticed it

My husband once asked me if I only married him so I had someone to talk about poop with. I laughed, because literally all my best friends and I talk about is poop.

I liked Clue, but I use OvuView (I have an Android, and Clue wasn’t available on it at the time) - they were very similar, and I appreciate all of the stuff you can track, and how it really utilizes that information.

Haha, my husband has occasionally referred to the last day, when it's over but I'm still spotting as “medium rare."

This, this, all of this.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
