Yeah, that's definitely what I'd consider the highlight here.

Yeah, I agree a lot. It's very good for what it is, and I agree that it's not really filler since the difference *is* that Steven is finally facing the issue head-on (while before he essentially projected it on to Pearl and Garnet, who he thought might have The Answers). So it ends up being so obviously necessary for

*Mute is a godawful bitch who I loved so much. Her route trashed me emotionally for a whole week.

Well, that's something I totally forgot about. There's still stuff like "Future Vision," though, which is definitely not a summer episode.

I am also curious about this-how did she think the worked, if not in a similar sense of metal manipulation as she now uses casually and regularly? From our point of view, they kind of seem…the same.

Also, this is about the second time that the idea of Beach City being a resort/tourist kind of town has been floated, since Lars is really excited for all the "beach babes" at the beginning of "Mirror Gem" (and end of "Ocean Gem"). I don't know if they're ever going to really focus on that at all, though; I don't

Soup was my favorite. Greg was also my favorite. Hm.

I'm not *too* sure about this, but it may be a callback to Political Power. When Steven is driving around with Mayor Dewey he says something like, "what's the other option? Let the people panic and riot? That didn't work out so well for Ocean Town!"

So I know everybody wants to see Mystery Girl back but I would be extremely surprised if she doesn't show up again. The entire premise of Pearl forming an actual relationship, of her own will, with a human, is so good thematically, with parallels to Rose Quartz and Steven himself.

I had to listen to that line SO many times before I understood what I was hearing, haha.

Pearl was my favorite early on, then somewhere along the late season 2-3 arcs where Peridot and Amethyst got some development I became less sure.

Lauren Zuke made Bad Pearl canon. I'm still processing this.

I had to stop myself from screaming at that line, because that was when I knew this was my favorite episode ever

Well, I can't speak for anyone else in that category, but I know *I* don't watch movies for the most part. I kind of hate them.

It's definitely written with a lot of…I don't know how to put it. Ambiguously romantic dialogue? The show is usually a little bit more forthright than this, though, if that's what they intended. And I also know I'm more inclined than most people to see this kind of thing, so I'm not absolutely sure they meant it (but

It's also because Sapphire specifically followed what she saw in her Future Vision. She never tried to make any of it not come true.

Jenny also does, in "Beach City Drift" (nobody else, except Kevin I guess, really calls them anything at all). But yeah, it's just so right, and works on so many levels.

The New Lars basically developed him into being way too much like me in high school. And that's just the beginning of how terrifying and disquieting the episode is, with Steven's open and friendly attitude crashing right into the awkward world of teenage bodies and relationships. But at the same time Stars being

Earthlings
Steven vs Amethyst
Beach City Drift
Mr. Greg

As funny as this episode was, I got more and more uncomfortable through the entire Sardonyx part. It was a huge, HUGE relief when the episode finally revealed that was the point.
