Serious question: why are scooters routinely louder than even the loudest Harley? I am constantly amazed at how freaking loud many scooters are. I can hear them from a mile away easily. Is that stock? How can the driver stand this?

For all the people who think it’s OK to eat in your car:

The dashboard is laced with the beaks of 1000 eagles. Also there are some eagles under the floorboards.

That’s why my 1990 Grand Prix scored so low!

Drive around Indiana. Broken down cars and shredded tires all over the roads. I’m not sure why.

I know two people with the new Cherokee. Both have had minor non-mechanical issues, but otherwise couldn’t be happier. The issues seem very normal for a first model year.

Came here for this. The QX80 is one of the few cars that I see in person and am completely baffled by the aesthetic.

No, you have a good perspective. From a 34 yr-old’s perspective, I can easily “afford” a $50k car. But it’s hard to justify that for something that will literally be worthless in 10-15 years. The most expensive car I’ve purchased is my $28k truck for work. For personal use, I have never paid over $17k. And I’ve driven

I’m going to guess that the base model will start at $45k with the average sale price being closer to $60k.

On EVERY cross country road trip I take (about 2 a year), I see a grown man pissing at the urinal with his pants around his ankles.

What about military transport? Are they constrained by the same safety issues?

I am totally ignorant of Ford’s current platforms. What platform could they have use that would allow them to do a larger rwd sedan?

A Prius rear-ended my truck once, and slighly bent in the bumper. I was devastated.

I read Nissan’s copy in Ryan from the Office’s voice. I half expected to see an accidental reference to Dunder Mifflin Infinity.

Do NOT buy any cars from Julian!

Realistically? $35k, and it would have to be for a car that either holds it’s value or I am going to keep for a long time. Max I’ve paid is $28k, with most under $20k.

Yup, I have Hobbyist plates on my Tempest. Hobbyist is if you want to modify the vehicle. Collector is for keeping it stock. You have to actually submit photos to prove the car is stock. Antique is for really old cars (think Model Ts, etc) and is very restricted. But the other 2 plates only require the car to be 20

Wisconsin has almost no limitations (unless you choose the Antique plates), and you never have to pay for registration again. You just can’t drive in January or something. Win win win!

The biggest issue is rear leg room. With my seat in a comfortable position (read: safe position) it is getting hard to find cars that have enough rest leg room to accommodate kids in car seats, especially freakishly tall kids. Ford and VW especially suck for this. We will be buying a car in about 2 years to replace
