Are all B-52s named (like Ghost Rider). If so, is there a complete list and pics of the nose art? That would be a cool post.

Yeah, I think we’re all in agreement that if you have to haul something bulky, a truck in the way to go. However, a van is superior in almost all other respects. It’s secure and weatherproof. That’s why a lot of pickups in my area have bed caps.

The guy I work with hauls horse manure in his mini van for his garden. If you need to haul a large amount of manure, you are not in the market for a SMALL truck.

I’m trying to envision the scenario where a work van wouldn’t do the same or better job than an actual small truck.

I think we need to define cheap. My definition is under $5k for a decent project car (all the parts are there, the body only needs basic repairs, etc). I still see a ton of lesser known models on Craigslist for cheap.

There are still affordable project Tempests or there, if $4-5k is your definition of affordable. I picked up my 65 for about $4k. The previous owner had already done all the sheet metal work, done a basic spray job, and overhauled the interior. Perfect base for a project. Unfortunately, he put a GTO hood on it. GTOs

Yeah, that wasn’t super clear.

According to the Jalopnik review, it does have a substantially faster connection and better coverage than your cell phone due to a much better antenna. If I had to work out of my car, or traveled a lot, it would be tempting to have a really solid internet connection in my car. I can see the potential.

In all seriousness, ask yourself if you would be cool if your wife bought something frivolous that cost roughly the same.

I count about 126 commercial airline hijackings listed on Wikipedia. The news stories have said there have been about 5-8 confirmed pilot suicide incidents, with half being minimal deaths (i.e. the pilot stole a plane and crashed it without anyone else on board).

I wouldn't change anything. We still need to trust that the flight crew is the authority on the aircraft, and they have complete control over that door. Sadly, that will lead to the extremely rare situation that we see ourselves in this week, but it's much better than erring on the side of allowing anyone else to

Understate style appeals to me as well. If I wanted a brash looking car I would buy a Charger. But it's a little too bland. It looks "last generation".

GM is moving the right direction with the Impala. They need to translate that to the Malibu, and hopefully to a next gen SS. I would buy the SS TODAY if it looked like the Impala. Like, I would leave my office right now and buy one.

Adam Carolla and Jeremy Clarkson. Presented by HBO (because you would never be able to air that show on mainstream cable).

Part of the issue is that they are terrified that their kids won't come back home. I know for a fact that her parents would be happier if she had married a local, got pregnant, got addicted to meth (it's a huge problem in her hometown), and was wasting away in a trailer....as long as she was "home". We hear it all

This. I come from a family where everyone has a college degree. It was assumed I would go to college (and not fail out). My wife comes from a farming family where you are DISCOURAGED from going to college. She went anyway, met me, we moved away, and now we are the pariahs of her family.

If you buy a lift, don't tell your friends.

Up here in Wisconsin, a local jeweler gives you a hunting rifle with the purchase of an engagement ring. It's a very popular promotion. I know of several people who have gone that route. The bride gets a ring, and the groom gets a gun. What could go wrong?

"Call for more info" is an auto CP for me. Is it really less work to have to talk to everyone who has a passing interest in this thing rather than just post the pertinent details?

Maybe he has the real life Snickers syndrome: hypoglycemia. Lots of tall people do (ask me how I know) and you can get VERY cranky if you are having an episode and need food.
