Counterpoint: during covid-19, we need reality television more than anything. During normal times, I would normally agree.

And in the case of Too Hot to Handle and Love Island, no drama is lost by keeping the talent safe.

I guess it works on Big Brother, but that show is pretty tame tbh, rare you see viral memes made from Big Brother. Even shows like Real Housewives or Vanderpump is so geared around alcohol and I’m sure lots of substances we don’t see on camera. But Bachelor in Paradise is truly sad that there was so little protection

Presumably staffers are discouraged from naming Alison because she works for one of their major competitors. Makes perfect sense to me.

Wow, I actually really liked this episode. Definitely 5/5. Some of the best videos are of the BA test kitchen chefs playing off of each other. These personal touches endear the chefs to me. It makes the videos more interesting.

You know, “Biden and everyone in the DNC need to constantly denounce every instance of Bro-like behavior, just as they demanded that Sanders do? Even though he didn’t? But they wanted him to, so they need to hold themselves up to a standard that Bernie refused?”

I’m doing it BECAUSE I don’t have the privilege to do this for decades.

Bernie Bros did not and do not give a single fuck about Progressivism. Sanders has only ever been a vehicle of anger and grievance for them, which is why they so readily switched their votes to Trump in 2016: they simply swapped out one form of grievance politics for another.

Step away from the tank, Comrade.

Yeah, that's not happening

Joe Biden is a rapist. If that's purity testing, sorry, I'm all for it

What the fuck do you not get about “He has pledged to support Biden as the nominee”? He can’t magically make his supporters agree to compromise their politics for Biden. Maybe this time around the centrist should try moving to the left to actually earn their votes.

TFW some landlord apologist in the comments refers to someone bringing up a Marxist opinion of land ownership as “virtue signalling”:

I don’t have the means to buy at this time because I have had to fork over 25-75% of my wages to landlords. They built up their wealth off of my labor.

Thanks, I hate it.

It is handy to point out that even the best landlords are still not that good. It’s like insurance salesmen. Even the best are still taking advantage of someone’s health. And housing is the best first step to maintain life, allows for more liberty and happiness.

I don’t get the blanket outrage for people being landlords.

How is it dumb? They did nothing to earn their rents beyond having enough money to buy the already existing buildings.

LA Weekly thinks differently.

So Jezebel is in the “Property is Theft” camp now? Good to know.
