these are pretty pricy for what they are, so I used the excuse of buying a set for my brother’s bday, and keeping the bogo little set for myself. It’s really nice to be able to drop stuff in there and not fight a magnet to get small sockets back. I don’t have the bigger set that they advertise can be folded to carry

One of the great things about this series are the cars. They’re simple, easy to maintain, and cheap as far as race cars go.

tl;dr. Hahahahaha.

Thats why phase 2 is to thicken up the air a bit and turn down gravity, duh.

your post was too long to read but I am responding to ask why you conflate the cost of a taxi medallion with the production cost of a flying drone thing.  not related.

I’m holding out for flying bicycles. The paradigm wont be, uh, disrupted until then.

Exactly! Forget cars. We need flying trucks that can tow flying boats.

What’s the purpose of the pre-flight checks, anyway? If it doesn’t take off, the pre-flight check was wasted. And if it takes off, I am sure it will come down.

I’m sure FAA would be down to create more paperwork, they love that shit. What people won’t tolerate is the noise though. Imagine how loud a supersize drone would be with many buzzy fans. People complain about 50-200cc paramotor engines spinning a single whirly fan at low rippemz.

I’m thinking parachute recovery like Cirrus aircraft is the only reasonably successful method but just imagine dropping a 1,000lb (Cessna 152 Empty Weight), car shaped, pod on a parachute inside one of the skyscraper valleys in NYC. What’s the bet that your not going to break a few windows and send glass shards

Oh man, I mean there is a whole world of FAA regulations I’d love to open up for you. This would require a complete bottom up overhaul of the regulations just to start, assuming we get all the tech working to current passenger standards. I’d be comfortable in saying this is at least 50 (more like 100) years off

“It is not that small aircraft feel unsafe.”, well, it’s actually that they are unsafe LOL.

Technology a bit off, hype quite high... allow me to pitch Lordstown 2.0 Wright. We will be creating a new paradigm of transportation service companies. As an early-mover we will have a competitive advantage over the entrenched and hide-bound EV companies when they try to move into the flying vehicle space. Let’s

As someone who flew crop dusters for a minute, I’ll be making some popcorn if this ever comes to pass. It would be utter carnage unless there was no manual control, period.

Damn... can you imagine getting autographs at one of these??? You could get some BIG autographs without huge crowds.

Another improvement this GREAT little series could make, is one more funny/casual voice in the room. Danica was great. Add even more fun/color and maybe even bring beer into the broadcast booth.

My only suggestion is they do like IROC and paint the entire car bodies  different colors. The grey cars with a little color isnt quite enough to tell them apart.

I saw this. It’s fucking rad.

Caught the highlights on YouTube as I cut out network television out a few years back. I can’t wait to see them on dirt! Hopefully next season they expand and come closer to home, if they do I’ll definitely go catch a race in person. I know how Stewart like the tracks around my area.

There was something almost refreshing about how outward they were being about throwing cautions to bunch the field and putting drivers in backups to keep the field big.
