Probably quite telling that they were showing the price in Rubles.

There’s a bit more detail in the statement made to the House of Commons.
They did the most awesome reveal of it in the launch video too.
Glossing over the awful sexism here, but what kind of monster tells any seven year old they can’t do any job in the world if they try hard? Every astronaut was seven once, and I bet most of them weren’t told to stop being silly when they told people what they wanted to do. I don’t think the teacher is a sexist…
I’m not so certain. It’s not as if Evans was exactly short of work beforehand. I think that there was quite a lot of arm-twisting and ego stoking done to get him on board, even though it was always going to be awful.
This is a fool’s errand and Evans knows it now.
I wonder how much of that was down to it being the first time that there was a federally mandated “this light means I’m stopping”, since red turn signals were so common at the time. That said even in the UK I find I have to pay more attention if the car in front doesn’t have one, but then they’ve been fitted to every…
But in Finland you expect that much snow every year - everyone can drive like Ari Vatanen, winter tyres are compulsory, and there isn’t so much stuff to hit.
It still won’t make you decelerate faster. Under virtually all conditions a modern car can lock the wheels with the brakes, and there’s little point locking the wheels a bit harder.
Using engine braking doesn’t help you stop quicker - that’s not why it helps. What engine braking does for you is effectively apply extra braking to the drive wheels if you brake gently. So it means that for any given braking you are shifting the brake balance forward.
For Don Quixote, I think a point and click adventure would be good - where you could switch between the Knight from La Mancha and his faithful servant. If you were looking at the world as Sancho, it looks normal, but if you switch to the Don, it looks all knight-y.
In my opinion this is still too high. Any alcohol in the blood stream has an effect on driving, it’s just that higher levels are worse.
The involvement of Red Bull shows that the marketing can be pushed into new directions if there’s a will. Whether there is a will is another matter entirely.
The problem is not with the women, which is what I think Bernie was trying to explain in an exceptionally cack-handed/trolltastic fashion. The problem is still with the men, but this time it’s marketing executives.
“Play Fucking Quiet. But pipe a sort of whooshing noise into the cabin you it feels faster.”
Sanders’ healthcare plan is bought and paid for - on the amount of money the US is slinging towards Big Health, a single payer system would have solid gold beds.
But is it better than 7 F16s though? Maximum payload for a Typhoon is 8 air to air missiles, you’d need to be very lucky to score a hit with all but one of them. especially since the F-16s would be firing something like 49 missiles at one plane.
I was going to say “A-HA! You can’t land a C-130 on an aircraft carrier!” but
I really get the feeling that air wings all over the world are getting worried about people realizing that relatively cheap and basic planes are what is best for an awful lot of the missions they do. They have a lot invested in very expensive, very fast, and very pointy planes, and likely want to keep them.
