Was that Jewel Staite from Firefly/Serenity walking through that wheat field?

@cbstryker: Have you tried hamachi 2.0 The build is more stable it seems. Plus there is now the bonus of being able to control the users in your groups from a web panel. You can send an invite to a user and when he clicks the link to install, it automatically puts said user into the workgroup of your choice. You can

@cbstryker: Sounds like an issue with something and hamachi at the same time. My linux, winXP, win7 machines all have ONE singular hamachi adapter.

@Buster Friendly: I was in the same boat but now I have a 35-up/35-down connection on Fios. I dont even see a blip in my ping when Im gaming and someone starts streaming off the other PC.

@Buster Friendly: I agree that the downside is the need for a client. I have access to my data through other means, as stated I use DDNS.

@Buster Friendly: Yea I can do the same thing with DDNS. I have DDNS setup for a couple things, but not fileshares as it opens a few security risks I do not feel like managing right now.

@Buster Friendly: As I stated above, the same thing can be done with any flavor of windows, linux or mac if you add hamachi VPN to the mix. No need for DDNS or however the WHS DNS works.

Im not sure of the benefit here over a simple VPN setup. By simple I mean Hamachi, well at least if the network is all windows based. Linux and Mac can still work with Hamachi, but the setup is a little more work. However, once it is up and running there is pretty much nothing that needs to be done on a regular basis

@Xtiro: Ahhh ok. That makes a bit more sense.

I wish that Gizmo would stop referring to gaining root on android as risky or the like. Rooting in an of itself is not risky at all. Flashing a Danger SPL can be risky, but most roms out there do not require the Danger SPL...

I dont see this in my normal android browser or in my 3rd party dolphin browser. Use my location is enabled in both. I can use the "local" section at the top that has been there for a while, but it does not open a popup window and need to load a new page, this is obviously slower.

@ckcallen: The answer in my opinion is to wipe all traces of apple from your apple tv and install Linux on it. The just do what ever you want. Install a minimal Ubuntu that boots straight to Boxee or XBMC.

@drstein: If this thing is Ion or Broadcom CrystalHD based then I can vouch for both playing back 1080p 5.1 audio with out a stutter.

Wow, I guess there is no more news for tonight if this is what makes it onto the blog? Come on Jason, we all knew it was silly when they said it at the conference. Did we need to talk about it again.

@HighOctaneX: No prob bob. Glad to share the wealth.

@HighOctaneX: Well thats perfect then. When you get it install win7 on it and then install hamachi, which is a nice simple easy to setup and maintain VPN. Then have your friends join your hamachi network, preferably the friends you have that have movies and music on PC. Then make a mapped network drive to your friends
