Geologically, yes.

A functioning country needs a long distance transportation network. In a time of climate crisis, we should all be using the train more - which is possible in some parts of the world, but not in countries like the US, UK, and Canada where neoliberal ideologues sold off and gutted the train system.

One thing to consider is that other countries (pretty much every other country in the developed world) has much stronger worker protections than the US. I say this as someone who manages an international team and has to deal with HR rules in the EU, UK, Australia, and Canada.

Iceland has a European attitude to risk management (although there is a geographic debate as to whether Iceland is actually part of Europe).

I disagree with the statement that MG’s lineup is a sad collection. The MG ZS I rented in the UK earlier this year was nicer to drive than any of the Big Three’s current rental car spec offerings, substantially better than all the Nissan and Mitsubishi rentals I have had in the US and got over 50mpg (UK gallon). 

I thought the same when I read this - for most people repainting every 5-10 years will suffice (as long as the paint is applied correctly)
