Because only states with gambling have Universities?

Same here. But I studied math(s) and stats in grad school so I don’t gamble and don’t care for most of the entertainment there.

That may be part of the issue, but the use cases are quite different in different parts of the country. When I lived in Minnesota and Colorado I drove 15-20,000 miles a year. Now I live in New England I drive <5,000 miles a year (even including ski trips to VT and PQ in the winter).

My old Saabs (2001 models) both had weather band radios and “night mode” dashboards.  Both of which (like keeping the key off the dash) should have been standard in *way* more cars and trucks.

Very true. When I lived in Boulder in the 80s and 90s everyone had a truck or van that they lived out of when biking, climbing, hiking, etc. It was just a normal thing for outdoors people.

I had a rooftop tent way in the early 1990s before they were common (google Wildernest if you are curious) and had the same experience the author had - soft suspension, big tires, and weight up high are a *terrible* combination for a 4x4 Toyota truck with the 22R engine. Driving dynamics and gas mileage on the road

That’s generally been an issue in Austin since the 1990s.  Austin is a great college town with infrastructure designed for 250,000 people (like Madison, Lincoln, Greensboro, etc.) but unfortunately over a million people live there.  You see it in the roads, airport, and all other public services

Every race track I have ever been to has blocked visual access from the bridges - they don’t want people hanging out on there and overloading the bridge.  This is just a story about people in LV who have never been to a race track and don’t understand why this is done.

If the choice is between doing the right thing and doing the cheap thing, I think we all know which direction the vast majority of school districts, town governments, and low-bid bus contractors will choose.

I’ll put money on the fact that someone else is driving the second RBR car next season. I’d put Alex Albon back in there (although having to play second string to Max would be hard on him), but I suspect Horner would like Danny Ric back.  I’m sure Max would rather have Alex than Danny.  In fact Max would probably

When I was a kid we moved to a house that had been owned by a woman who had chain smoked for 30+ years. We scrubbed and we painted and still, 20 years later when my mom sold the house there was still nicotine and tar coming through the paint from the plaster it had infused over that time.

I have fond memories of test driving a hard top Viggen in 2001 and experiencing its phenomenal torque steer. I took the safe route and bought a 9-5 wagon which was also a great car.

Surcharges for paying by credit card are absolutely common in Australia and have been standard for over 15 years. I don’t recall having seen surcharges for debit card (EftPOS) transactions, but I haven’t been in Australia or New Zealand since the pandemic, so maybe that’s a new thing.

NZ Police are not armed.  Only specialist teams routinely carry guns

GB News and about half of the daily newspapers (ask your parents what that is if you are under 30).

You are - the equivalent van life offerings from Airstream and Winnebago are well over $200,000

Counterpoint: As a pedestrian, cyclist, motorcyclist, and driver I *hate* super dark limo tinted windows.

I don’t understand why companies make this so hard.

It’s even funnier that someone who identifies as a “car guy” can only be enthusiastic about one particular method of powering those cars (and trucks).

Are we going to have people jumping in to claim that “if you use this one special trick to set your mirrors you don’t need to turn your head to check blindspots”?
