Yeah, he’s scum, but he’s not been accused of rape.

You write like a 13 year old yourself, but one trying to imitate Trump’s tweeting style.
Michael Bay isn’t bad because he relies on explosions and over the top action. He’s bad because those explosions and over the top action are badly portrayed. They’re difficult to follow, and the resulting movies are a huge mess.
The portrayal and the relationship both are complicated. Without spoiling much, Kenan’s relationships with both government workers and resistance fighters define him in a lot of ways. The Chinese government isn’t heroic, but it isn’t totally villainous. New Superman spent the majority of the series so far working for…
If you’re looking to jump into a DC comic, this probably one of the best. While it does sometimes cross over with the rest of the DCU, it’s mostly self-contained, and it’s being written by one of the greatest creators in comics today. As a marvel guy who started reading DC stuff with rebirth, I *highly* recommend…
Gene Luen Yang is one of the most acclaimed writers in comics. Heck, he’s a Macarthur Genius Grant recipient.
Wait— Whedon owns the rights? Not Fox?
Call me by your name is a recent example that shows you *can* play around with credit-scenes in a more thoughtful way than just “here’s a fun thing that will get tweeted later”
....That’s kind of a non sequitur? “Is it possible to understand this movie and still hate it?” “Yep, here’s an example of people like that.” “CRITICS DON’T DICTATE MY OPINION.”
folks like Red Letter Media have complaints about structure, pacing, theme, acting— so yes, it’s possible. But those folks are very much in the minority of critics

Raised Catholic (still am), and the X-men were banned in my house because they were mutants. My parents just understood that the word had icky, negative connotations, so it must not be a Nice Story.
‘“The reason it feels painful for me is... for me, personally, it contains a willingness for me to fully and completely represent—sorry, I don’t mean to get emotional saying it—white entitlement,” Lehman said, getting choked up. “It involves race, it involves class, it involves life and death. And I think, ‘Well this…
W/r/t the first: it’s better than staking everything on your aging, dwindling market.
And after he made it up, Lucas’ wife made better things up
They do, but marvel *creators* are expected to act as the primary marketers for their books, which is bizarre.
a few good advertising campaigns might help break the market out of that niche, no?
That last bit is always what boggles my mind in these discussions. People always shriek that we shouldn’t expect marvel to lose money— but I mean, why not? At a loss or a profit, marvel publishing is *pocket change* to the Mouse. It does not exist to make money. It exists to cheaply market for and workship their…
I go to a comic shop which *actively* seeks out those audiences. They hold events, signings, book clubs, etc specifically about LGBTQ books/ creators as well as creators of color. World of Wakanda, The Crew, Iceman, really the whole slew of recent marvel cancellations were selling on the same levels as Saga.
