Wow, just looked up that season. Ryan came in 5th in the Cy Young, losing to Steve Bedrosian, a closer with 2.3 WAR and who gave up 11 HRs in 89 IP. The pitcher with the highest WAR (Bob Welch) came in 8th. Weird times, man.
