Sounds familiar. Our nanny said her uncle was one of those wacky “always joking about silly conspiracy theories” but recently got really serious about flat earth stuff. As an engineer I was like man, just give me like 15 minutes with him, I would die to hear him answer some of my questions.

Sure, but that’s after the fact. It all happened in just a few minutes. I’m sure it was just a spoofed number anyway, so it’s unlikely to be helpful to block it, but I eventually did.

My wife is an ICU doc and she tells me all the time about how the flu shot won’t absolutely prevent the flu, but will definitely help prevent the life-threatening side effects that people like this girl has.

“I didn’t vote but it’s not fair that the guy who won is endangering my life” is a pretty good synopsis of American politics. Apathy and nihilism is cool right up until it actually affects you.
