Sedona is the only place on that list that I would even seriously consider. Probably too “new age” for me, but it’s up in the mountains so the weather isn’t like Phoenix. For vacations, we have plenty of cheaper alternatives here in CA and I don’t need to fly anywhere.

I don’t go (too) cheap on my tools. Cheap tools wear out faster and are made from softer metal, which is a huge issue for pliers, prybars and hammers. For hammers, get a nice Estwing hammer (made in USA too) which will last you a lifetime. My dad still has his Estwing from 50+ years ago.
