College professor here. The advice is pretty good for the most part. However, I expect students to take responsibility for showing up, learning the material (whether or not they’re in class as I always record my lectures for later viewing), and asking me for help if they need it. They’re all legally adults and I treat

Love that song - same with Avenue. I wish they continued that series.

I loved It’s A Living. I also had a big time crush on Crystal Bernard - what a cutie.

A good list of items. I stayed in one of those lounges at Hong Kong where you can sleep for a couple of hours while waiting for a flight. It was worth it, as it included food, drink, a place to relax and crash for a short nap. Those private lounged definitely make a different for frequent flyers.

Looks delicious.

I’ve seen many companies doing the old bait and switch routine on remote vs. in-person. I was partially through one process when they decided to change their mind to being on-site, and I dropped them like a hot potato.

No love for SkiFree?

I worked at one company for 6.5 years, and the stock options were complete crap and effectively worthless. After a couple of large rounds of funding the dilution really kicked in and toilet paper would’ve been more valuable than the stock. They eventually went IPO, which went poorly. The stock started high and

Usually there’s a paratransit or similar service, but even that can be difficult. You effectively need a lot of services/stores nearby so they don’t have to go that far, which can be an issue with some areas.

RSUs are a joke. The salary bumps are better long term. Besides, that also assumes that the company does well enough for an IPO and you can actually cash them out. I’ve only had one instance where I could cash out and it was $8500. Sadly the rest were underwater by the time I could do anything.

<sarcasm>Fisherman’s Wharf - YAY! We’re #1! </sarcasm>

I would love a Juan Pablo Montoya mug with “F***ing Raikkonen” from Spa 2002

I remember when Frontier was a decent airline, which was a while ago. Now? They would have to pay me $5M just to fly them - even Greyhound would be an improvement on them. Same with Spirit.

Alex Roy’s commentary about the film is also worth a watch:

I have but one like to give! Nailed it.

It’s an excellent channel, and he does a LOT of research, which puts him well above the usual clowns. Brings up a lot of great points for better public transit, infrastructure and more. Definitely worth a watch.

I keep anything personal on my personal computer, and never put it on my work computer just in case I get locked out. This has saved me many times.

I just migrated to a new phone and the Google Authenticator worked like a champ. No issues.

Yeah - I remember those days. You could write perfectly solid HTML that looked perfect everywhere except for IE. For whatever reason it butchered the rendering to the point where it was a joke.

I’d believe it. IE was a major reason why I left web development. Got sick and tired of IE-specific crap.
