Yeah we have the same thing here in the Bay Area. We get the usual “we hate the military” crowd whining about Fleet Week every year. Thankfully we don’t have highway shutdowns (yet), but the weekend traffic anywhere near the Golden Gate Bridge or Bay Bridge is a nightmare.

I’m glad that the list contained Chef! and Tampopo. Chef! was a great show and Lenny Henry made it so funny. He’s like Gordon Ramsay.

Jalopnik is definitely all in on the new Integra. As a former Integra owner, it’s meh at best. The current version is just a grossly overpriced souped up Civic with not much differentiating it from other competitors. They’re just trying to jump on the nostalgia train, and I’m not buying.

That was me with my Integra. It was at the point where the cost of repairs would be more cost prohibitive that simply putting that money towards a new car instead. I ended up doing a trade in which worked out because although it had its issues, the rest of the car was in great shape.

Yeah I remember that - typical San Francisco for you. A so-called “historic” laundromat. Turns out they’re moving forward:

Good video - zoning is a huge problem, especially here in the Bay Area. Getting a duplex/triplex is virtually impossible.

1) Booze
2) Plates/napkins/utensils
3) Foil - you always need more than you think
4) Veggie dishes, perhaps a dessert

You can taste the difference, but it also depends on what strength of Everclear you started with and how you watered it down as well. I noticed that Everclear extracted significantly more lemon oils and made it stronger tasting.

Yes - when you could get Everclear here in CA (not any more now), that was by far the best limoncello. Now I have to use vodka which is okay, but the lemon flavor was a lot stronger with Everclear.

Definitely agree with Irvine. He was a good driver, and his famous “insurance claim there!” with Senna is a classic.

I would include Riccardo Patrese. Great driver but never got the lucky breaks.

People forget how close he came to winning the 1999 championship - he took a middle field Jordan into genuine contention. Outside of a little bad luck it would’ve been very interesting.

That’s a good strategy. I do the same with semi-trucks. If you can’t see their mirrors, they can’t see you.

In no particular order:

Most tech companies do have a booze stash. The trick is know where... :)

I know people who were fired for stealing coffee. Not worth it. Seriously though - I’ve never worked at a company where the snacks were worth stealing. I usually took extras that I ate at my desk but that was about it.

My personal list:

For sleeping bags, put them in a large breathable cotton bag instead of a compression sack. You can crush the down/fibers in the bag, which will prevent the bag from keeping you warm.

The chicken at Costco is a real bargain. I get multiple meals out of it and then I use the carcass for fresh chicken stock. A nice win-win all around.

1) Mazda B-2000 pickup truck. A small crapwagon truck that was a workhorse.
