More stars for this! My wife and I have saved a LOT of money eating at home and brown bagging for lunch instead of eating out. Costs have been going up for a while (especially here in SF) and that’s made us think twice about going out. Now we consider going out for special occasions only.

In undergrad I used a Mazda B2000 pickup truck to travel back and forth to school. Yes, it was a complete crapwagon. Bare bones, manual, crappy heating and A/C, crank windows, bench seat, etc. It worked like a champ with a nice bed for hauling. Cheap and dependable. You can’t get anything like that now.

It depends. I’ve only flown in 1st class once on a trip from DFW to SFO after a rough business trip. I had a middle seat in the back of the plane which sucked. They were asking for people who wanted to pay for the last 1st class seat. It was only $149 to upgrade. Money well spent - I got a nice rest which I needed,…
