Reykjavik is cheap because of WowAir, which is a really shitty airline when you look at the reviews (bad service, delays and people missing connections are the most common issues). It’s one of those pay for everything airlines but if that works for your budget, then go for it.

My late uncle used to live in Honolulu, not to far from Waikiki. He said to avoid that area at all costs and go to North Shore instead. Getting around is tough with a car, traffic isn’t great so of course expect delays. The USS Arizona is worth a visit.
