My dad had a rental car while his work truck was getting worked on. He brought it home and noticed a strange smell. Turned out that the car (which was brand new with only 3K miles on it) had no oil at all. He added some oil but the damage was done. He had to call them up to pick up their now dead car.

Depending on the industry you work in, you can easily leverage that domain knowledge into programming. That will make it much easier that trying to get a 20-something to learn about your industry.
