When growing up, I remember when hospitals used to have their x-ray room available for scanning Halloween candy. They found all kinds of stuff including pills and razor blades inserted in various candies. Scary shit. Thankfully it’s not as bad now relatively speaking but during the 70's-80's it was pretty bad.

Fremont isn’t the middle of nowhere. It’s also next to two major interstates (680 and 880) and a railroad line going straight to it. Yes, they got the building for cheap because it was the old Nummi plant (Toyota and GM partnered with it back in the day) which sat vacant for years.
