Well, yeah, that's an issue.

That's a terrible idea. Sports have so many more benefits for kids (and adults) than just promoting fitness.

Perhaps the best way - or only hope, really - to get kids to tackle more safely is to penalize unsafe tackling all the way up to the high school level and maybe beyond. As it is, the rules only protect the ball carrier, not the tackler.

If they could have passed it on a referendum, they would have put it up for one. Much easier than all of the backroom shenanigans, etc.

You are a racist shitbag, in case you're wondering.

The good people of Atlanta ARE avoiding this travesty. It's coming to Cobb County. Read.

Watching the games over the weekend, it appears that at least half of the people at Turner Field this weekend were supporting the Red Sox. Yeah, there are a lot of Red Sox poseurs everywhere, but you'd think a team as successful as the Braves could do better.

That's not what happened in Miami, however.

My recollection of that area was that it was just kind of nothing. Just kind of a wasteland more than a bad neighborhood per se.

That was mostly privately funded, so win-win.

Anacostia could have a cool waterfront and apparently it did long ago.

Right by the Georgia Dome.

One can probably buy crack in Bethesda if you know the right people.

They oriented it the wrong way. Instead of putting the outfield over the river where there'd be a nice breeze and few of the boats, it faces a bunch of unsold condos. A few people can see the capital, but most can't. Stupid. And the lines for concessions last three innings.

That's right. Sometimes reporters have to just state the basics that are in the press release or earnings report, but in the internet age - which as been going on for a while now - if that's all you can do, then you're just a typist, not a journalist. And quoting the puffy PR-speak of the company is pretty worthless

It would make more sense if he said "Your open relationship is *probably* horseshit," although I don't know if that's true either. Most of the ones that are doomed to fail will probably fail pretty quickly so, statistically, the ones that are still around may very well have staying power.

That's up to you, sure. I mean, people race motorcycles and F1 cars and ride bulls. Most people would find that insane, but it's their choice.

That's a complete non-sequitur.

I've watched all levels. The fact remains that even the best high school teams only have a few scholarship-worthy players.

Even at the highest level of high school football, only a few of the players are D1 caliber and maybe a few more will play D2-D3. What I've usually seen watching those showcase games on ESPN is pretty similar to what we see when our local TV puts on marquee Pennsylvania high school match-ups - a few really good
