I think the "A.J." is what knocks it down, unless that stands for Anders Jens.

The name Miami in Ohio comes from the indians who lived there. And Miami University is significantly older than the University of Miami.
Three very different schools and there are much more remote places to go to college in PA.
Mercyhurst is in Erie which is on the edge of nowhere, not the middle.
Slippery Rock is pretty close to Pittsburgh. Bucknell is in Lewisburg, not to be confused with Lewistown, but both are fairly small and mostly rural, but not…
But all of those State schools are named after the town they are in, which is handy.
The pronunciation of Duquesne confuses people more than its location.
There are two Robert Morrises. One in Pittsburgh and one in Chicago. Neither, as far as I know, were actually founded by Robert Morris.
That may be true for Indiana, but they could still just run out whatever underclassmen they've got and see how it goes.
If it's just not worth the money, the AD should have just said that. No need to be an asshole and Big Time the whole thing.
I'm assuming the NCAA would like to save the NCAA.
And yet few teams turn down the chance to play in those shitty bowl games even though they lose money on them.
You're mixing up the CIT with the CBI. I was confused by that too. They're two different things.
Yeah, that's clearly wrong. Penn State is going. As is Oregon State and a few other big schools.
Any team that is invited to the CBI clearly needs all the practice it can get. Unless the money really doesn't make sense, turning down the invite doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter if nobody comes to the games. Think of it like an off-season scrimmage.
As others have pointed out, the NCAA should be hoping that the players can unionize instead of fighting it. As I understand it, collective bargaining is the only thing that allows the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc. to exist as protected cartels. If the universities are going to collude, then the players should be allowed to…
I think the crapness was sort of the point, if that makes sense.
Indeed he was the subject of an Oscar winning movie.
I should have just looked it up first. According to their web page, to become a member of the Academy, you need other members to sponsor you. Like joining a country club. Winning helps, of course.

But being invited to the show is different, I suspect. Beyond the nominees and stars…
The closest I've come to Hollywood is that I went to school with an animation director who was nominated but didn't win, but I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that it's an industry largely built on personal relationships. So it isn't too surprising that the stars are, at least, charming and personable and now how to…
I'm comfortable with that.
She was nominated, right? Plus she's the reigning holder of one of the four acting awards, plus she was in one of the films nominated for best picture, plus the DVD of the second Hunger Games just came out so the studio wants to promote that by reminding American that we love her. With all of that, she could probably…
If he's not a member of the Academy, how do you get to be one? He's a good actor who's been in a lot of good stuff.
