The Monster Energy Open was some of the most pulse-pounding, intense racing I’ve seen in years. The actual All-Star Race was kind of a hilarious cavalcade of confusion and rulebook screwery, but I can’t say it wasn’t also entertaining in its own way, I suppose!

The Senran Kagura series actually tends to have really solid gameplay and plays up the fanservice element more heavily for marketing and self-effacing humor than in-game. Although, I guess that does depend on how you play it...

I think you’ve pretty much exactly nailed it. People really throw a freakin’ hissy fit whenever they think racing’s being emasculated somehow. Some people just wanna watch the damn racing.
