I watched this at the Tribeca Film Festival. It was 100% vapid fan service. More than 50% of the 60 minute documentary was just talking heads (George Miller, Grimes, Guillermo Del Toro, Geoff Keighley, and some rando that i don’t know) all praising his work. Norman Reedus mentions Death Stranding’s plot confused him.

I love Charles Martinet in the games but two hours of “let’sa go!” and “it’sa me, Mario” and “mamma mia” and “yah Wah HOO!” would get pretty old. Chris Pratt isn’t perfect but I understand that the studio didn’t want an Italian stereotype joke as the voice leading the whole movie.

Yeah Kotaku is trying really hard to convince that this is going to be a a gamer cultural touchstone movie that somehow is going to legitimize all of our childhoods spent playing videogames.
