When my wife and I were dating, back in 2002, I drove a clean (but mostly stock) 5th gen El Camino. It has a mild 350 that we used to replacet the tired stock 305, the car was fun and mine but nothing too special.

This is cool but total BS that Nevada won’t let you store energy, a powerwall would be perfect here, albeit quite an expensive upgrade compared to your all-in cost of $10k.

Yeah, the new gen is way better than the previous gen, those bloated a bit too much.

What do you care if jalop gets a referral fee?  It doesn't increase the cost and they're doing work to talk about a product.  This is how the world turns my friend, no free lunch and all that.

Is there a report on what’s causing the microcontroller shortage for the auto industry?I’m hearing of all sorts of causes (factory fires, raw goods shortage, manpower shortage...) in various plants for different components across the electronics industry but thought it’d be great to see some actual journalism and get

There’s certainly some weird stuff going on with the execution of doors and body panels, our brains are used to seeing that layout.

Cab Over or Cab Forward most anything is cool!

I’m sorry Amazon but whoever owns that home, they’re not buying an Outlander or most any (all?) other Mitsubishi cars/trucks.

Ugh, edit: ...to each THEIR own....

I hate jewelry, the only thing you might find on me is my wedding band and even that’s only in public. Used to wear a watch when cell phones weren’t a thing but then moved away from them.

Agreed, the only way to make them remotely acceptable is to touch things up after the wash. They work during the winter, to help blast off any salt build-up and in a pinch, when you’re short on time.

Counterpoint: Automatic carwashes give me anxiety because of all the possible scratches my vehicle is likely subjected to and the terrible job done by most automated carwashes.

These are good too but I feel the Challenger front clip is a little slimmer looking

This is cool, now do one with a modern Challenger front clip and all the improvements these guys are dreaming of.

I picked up on that section too but I'm confused because at the beginning the article talks about how this setup will cool the road in the summer.....what, how? Pretty sure biomass won't help pull heat from a system.

The SRBs (where this o-ring existed) do not see the same cytogenetic, extremely low temps as the main tank. These o-rings would only be exposed to ambient temps.

You nicely sum up my understanding of the disaster and the headline (along with various excerpts you identify) are click-baity. I doubt any of this really surprises you.

Wow, that is one homely looking vehicle, great job Argo!

I’m a little late to the party but I’d venture to say the Corvair is underappreciated, here's a very stock example.  I'd drive the eff out of this.
