The only electrical issues I had with my WJ were due to a poor battery connection....boy was that weird, terminals were connected well enough to crank and start the engine but a little loose and everything was freaking out until the ECU shut the engine down. Cleaned and tighten the terminals and everything was solid.…

Totally disagree, especially when talking this gen with a v8...if you could get the correct auto, they weren’t bad. I had a WJ with the (5)45RFE and it was fairly advanced and bullet-proof compared to the competition with 3 planetary gear sets, giving it 5 forward gears, aka double overdrive.

The Caprice was a larger car than the Malibu based late model El Camino, I've owned both. In fact, I had a 79 Caprice, easily 6 inches wider.
