And Asenath was just Ephraim in another body; who might be inhabiting Ms. Guilfoyle?

It struck me the Zero Theorem was an attempt to remake Brazil for more electronically advanced times. Sadly it was not a good one.

I tried an audio version of another Jeff VanderMeer piece (it’s currently on YouTube for the masochists amongst us): This World is full of Monsters, and I seriously wanted to punch him by the end. I’m pretty certain he’s trying to be Thomas Ligotti, but oof, no...

My major problem with REAMDE was that I didn’t like Zula; I found her a tiresome Little-Miss-Perfect. I could have cheerfully read 700 more pages of Sokolov and Qian Yuxia rather than seven of Zula, and her kidnapping/hostage arc was so contrived. The T’Rain thing was just over-explained for me. I would imagine that

I’ll forgive Sandinista! all its sprawl, just for the five minutes and twenty seconds of perfection that is The Call Up. Somebody got Murdered is the cherry on the cake.

Blimey. If you are going to show a twelve-year-old Grave of the Fireflies, you might as well go the whole hog and sit them in front of Threads...

Do whatever you prefer, there’s really no reason to get upset about this.

Why bother to get so hostile about this? Does it takes so long to register an ‘extra’ space? No. Let’s please save our energy for things that make a difference in the world.

Freya, Fantasie and Panache: the holy trinity of big-sized bras that don’t look like buckets. I’m 32G, and have a stash of Fantasie 6500 set aside in case they ever stop making them.

Not so much these days. I was out at the time, but my neighbour tells me there was an armed police raid on a flat in the block next to ours yesterday. And there were armed police patrolling the Christmas market in the city centre last winter. I’m old enough to remember when the idea of UK police carrying guns was a

How many complete PCs can you build from the parts? Think of the fun you could have building ‘Frankenstein’s Monster’ machines! You could end up with useful machines for running legacy software, or basics that could be of use to someone with limited tech needs (Windows XP is a perfectly good OS). Both myself and Yog

Senser - Stacked Up

Smart woman - well played. Beautiful name too. Vega Blossom? Lovely.

Warhammer World? I’d forgotten about that, which is particularly naughty considering I’ve been drinking at Bugman’s. My Warhammer days are far behind me though, I dropped away in the early nineties (pretty much when the miniatures changed from metal to plastic).

Indeed it is, but on the way home it’s sharply uphill, and if I’m carrying bags of groceries or it’s throwing it down with rain, I’m catching the bus!

This is very good value. Considering it costs me £2 to get from my flat to the local city centre (about a mile and a half) this is seriously good. All these cities have places worth visiting (museums, galleries, gardens, etc.) but the shopping is pretty generic, so don’t come expecting much variation by region.

The French had a contentious presidential campaign some years ago. An unofficial slogan for a mainstream candidate versus a Front National ratbag?

DINSDALE!!

She looks as though she could be Beavis’s absentee mother.
