I think it’s beyond that - it needs replacing.

I do not own a hairdryer, and have not for twenty years or so. My hair is waist length and in good condition, partly I suspect, because I do not own a hairdryer. Wash it once or twice a week with castille soap, rinse with cider vinegar and then just let it be.

I was having real problems with Quantum too, so I switched to Pale Moon, based off an old version of Firefox. I don’t tend to have three thousand tabs open at once, and don’t use many extensions, but it’s been OK so far. I also use Opera for its VPN facility, but it’s not always consistently available in the UK.

It’s British English for a fizzy non-alcoholic drink. Note also the northern English variant ‘Corporation pop’ meaning water, although this is mainly in use by the older generation.

Chrissy Metz needed better shoes. The ones she had on looked really uncomfortable.

I’m so sorry. Sometimes life is unspeakably cruel.

Toby Young? He’s an intellectual pygmy and a serious attention whore. He’s been around for years, but everything he touches turns to shite, whch is why this appointment is so worrying. British education is in a parlous state already, political appointments like this really don’t help :(

Hail Eris! For she will be the agent of our salvation!

What can we throw onto the decks that is heavy - to make sure the bugger sinks before they have the chance to get off.

I always feel terribly sorry for the women who marry into the British royal family...they are giving up any semblance of normality to have shit thrown at them by the media for the rest of their lives. Better to be a royal mistress than a royal wife, I reckon.

It is very much the wearer who is beautiful is that picture, despite the dress and not because of it. She was stunning.

Hoping to occupy the space vacated by Marchesa, perhaps? The sort of dress that relies very heavily on ornamentation for its effect, rather than style lines, is always going to be popular with some people, and Emanuel and Marchesa dresses have always leaned heavily in that direction.

I would be so up for that. Denying the patriarchal capitalist machine the fuel it requires (our money) is the one thing that will bring it down. Even if not universal, if enough of us begin to withhold our support, they’ll soon sit up and take notice. It could be done easily enough - restrict spending on these things

Brands are for cattle.

Yog and I have recently reversed a machine had had been upgraded to Windows 10 back to Windows 7 after we got sick of the notifications and extraneous garbage. It’s just a box to run things that won’t play nicely with Ubuntu, so it doesn’t need to be anything fancy, and by the Horrible Black Void Windows 10 is

Ubuntu is well-maintained and there is a lot of online help, but even so, I wouldn’t ever choose its latest incarnation; I’m still running 16.04 LTS, and I will do until 18.04 has been out for at least six months. The only real problem I’ve had is not being able to get my printer to work - but quite honestly I haven’t

Janis Joplin and Dusty Springfield are going to kick Bono’s ass in the afterlife.

Are you sure about that? She seems to have enough left.
