They traded three meaningless players and a protected 2016 pick to create cap space. If they get LBJ, fantastic. If not they still have a ton of cap space and a nice young core. No one is going to say Ariza is a suitable replacement for LeBron, but really anyone they sign would be a letdown from LeBron.
